That sort of one dimensional setting isn’t usually a good thing for a story, but Noratoto finds a bunch of ways to artificially add a second dimension and add depth to the setting whenever it might need it. Normally it would boil down to one of two things: either you do human things as a cat or you do cat things as a cat.
Story: There’s not really all that much that can be done with the story of being a cat. While it may not have anything that stands out as amazing other than maybe a few choice scenes towards the end of some routes, literally anything I could talk about from it comes out way above what I would expect from an “average” VN.
Although, contrary to my original thoughts, I actually think they did really well with the story, along with basically everything else in the game. General Thoughts: Alright, so the story is a little cheesy, but who cares? I didn’t come here expecting to get an amazing story out of the game, so I wouldn’t have put it past them if it threw away what little story they had without regard.

Of course, being a cat does bring its own set perks, some of which include: being adorable, getting free hugs, and of course getting the perfect viewing angle for certain stuff.
Unable to communicate with most humans and stuck in a world he doesn’t completely understand, Nora needs to find a way to get back to his normal self. It turns out that she has her own agenda though as she easily gets distracted searching for the mysteries of life rather than bringing up anything about death.Įventually, through a bit of magical prowess and a slight misunderstanding, Nora ends up becoming a cat by accident. That girl just so happened to be a princess of the underworld who was sent there by her mother to remind humans of death. Summary: One day on the way to school Nora found a beautiful girl lying under a tree. That heroine just so happens to be voiced by my favorite voice actress, and what could possibly be a better distraction than hearing her play a cat? Nothing, the answer is nothing. While checking Twitter that day I happened upon a picture from Noratoto in which one of the heroines had been turned into a cat. March releases were still a few days out so I started looking for other ways to distract myself for a couple days. I needed a distraction, and a good one at that.

The internet filled with spoilers, streams of the full release, and new information all of which I was trying to avoid since I’m getting the English version 3 weeks later. Almost a month after release though something happened: Dark Souls 3 got released in Japan. Skip forward a week or so and I see that it’s getting rated very highly and basically everyone that I’ve seen that’s playing it seems to be really enjoying it still not enough to get me to start it. Once the voices got announced I was really tempted to pick it up, but come release the motivation just wasn’t quite there. Originally, I saw a few bits of it pre-release but never really thought much of it. Noratoto, as it’s sometimes referred to, might just have the most ridiculous reason for me picking up any game ever.
